Bringing in your Season

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION!

There is a time/a season for everything under God’s plan. Being the children of the most high, we will have to understand how this operates..

1. Knowing your season – Jesus knew that His time had already come.

2. Knowing your strength – Jesus knew that His Father had given everything into His hands.

3. Knowing your security – Jesus knew and you also can know that you come forth from God and are going back to Him and while on earth He is with you.

4. Knowing the devil’s schemes – The schemes of the devil are very predictable. He comes only to steal, kill and destroy. But Jesus has already crushed him on the Cross, and very soon He will crush him under your feet.

Knowing all this, the Lord Jesus showed the full extent of His love. He began to serve, by washing the disciples feet. It was a practical parable, one they would never forget. Jesus was very conscious of God’s timing in His life. Knowing that His time had come, He celebrated the Passover. And on the Cross He Himself became our Passover Lamb. The acceptable time has come. This is your time!.

Your TIME:

Behold, now is the favorable time, Behold, now is the day of salvation. [2 corinthians 6:2]

Under the old covenant, the people were waiting for the acceptable time. But in the new testament, what happened on the Cross through Christ’s sacrifice makes a wonderful difference in our lives..

God’s grace is new every morning, so use today’s grace for today. Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for God is able to make all grace abound toward you, so that you, having all sufficiency in all things will abound in every good work. Building upon the grace that is available for you each day, apostle Paul proclaims, ‘Today is the day of salvation. Knowing that His hour had come, Jesus began to serve, for the Son of Man came to serve and give His life as a ransom for many’.

Your PEACE:

Jesus wept over Jerusalem saying, ‘Even today, if you knew the things that make for peace’. [Luke 19:42] For He came to earth as the Prince of Peace. And this day, in your dire and broken situations, He Himself becomes your peace. With this assurance, you can take heart and not be dismayed..

Your SEASON:

Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season. [2 Timothy 4:2]

Whether your circumstance is favorable or not, the principle is this – Proclamation brings in the season. God uses an analogy to describe how the Word works. As the rain that comes down in its, season waters the earth, and the seed is sown, which then brings forth a rich harvest, your proclamation brings in your season. It is like the rain that comes down, and the seed that is sown. [Isaiah 55:10,11]

Your PROCLAMATION:

After the time of prophet Malachi, for 400 years the people did not hear God’s voice (referred to in theology as the “silent years”). Then breaking the silence came the voice in the wilderness, John the Baptist, proclaiming Jesus, the Lamb of God..

In a small town, Nazareth, in a small synagogue, the Creator of Heaven and earth, the Living Word, stood up to read, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, For He has anointed Me…” Jesus proclaimed the favorable year of the Lord, and even as He proclaimed it, the year of the Lord’s favor began. And He then said to them, Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing”. [Luke 4:18-21] From then on, even until now, it is the time of the Lord’s favor..

What God’s Word can do in your life, nothing else can do. You need not just scrape through life in mediocrity, for Christ came to manifest the power of God on earth. And in Him, you can too. As the Holy Spirit illuminates a word for your season, open your mouth, speak the Word over your circumstance, and proclaim the favor of God over every aspect of your life. For today is the day of the Lord’s favor..

Examples of God’s people who proclaimed the word of God and witnessed transformation:

1. David:

‘Today God will give you into my hand’ [1 Samuel 17:46] This was David’s proclamation as he faced Goliath, who had taunted the Israelites for forty days, reducing them to a state of apathy. As he spoke this under the Spirit’s anointing, the heavily armed giant was brought down by David’s slingshot that very day. David did not wait to be made king to solve the problem. By solving the problem God will raise you up, make you the king..

Speak the Spirit-inspired word.

2. Moses:

He proclaimed the Word God spoke unto him, saying to the Israelites,’The Egyptians whom you see today, you will never see again’. [Exodus 14:13] And the taskmasters of 430 long years, who had broken their backs with hard labor vanished forever. And even as you proclaim this promise, inspired by the Spirit, you will stand and see the problems that have dogged you for many years disappear, for Today is the Day of salvation. Christ has come to set the captives free..

3. Nehemiah:

Today is holy to the Lord your God, do not mourn or weep, proclaimed Nehemiah. [Nehemiah 8:9] The people then went on to celebrate as they now understood the word. The solemnity of worship does not mean we have to be sorrowful, for Christ is on the throne, reigning forever. We celebrate the risen Lord, proclaim His death until He comes, for we understand the truth. We know that Jesus showed His scars to the disciples not to give them a guilt trip but to reinforce the truth of the forgiveness of their sins.

4. Zacchaeus:

Though he was hidden on top of a sycamore tree, the Lord called him by his name, invited Himself to his house, to proclaim a glorious redemption, “Today  salvation  has come  to  this  house for this man too is a son of Abraham” [Luke 19:5-10] Proclaim the Word today over your loved ones that are lost, for the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost..

5. As long as it is called ‘Today’:

The writer of Hebrews counsels us to encourage one another. [Hebrews 13:14] Encouragement empowers a person. Encourage others and encourage yourself in the Lord.
