May your eyes be opened, to know God more and more, to receive rest in you as you behold Him for who He is, continue to hear His voice, through His word, that your life may never be the same … but those who seek the Lord, lack no good thing. [Psalm 34:10] Goodness of God comes into your life, by receiving His salvation, understanding the fullness of it. One aspect of it involves a renewing of your mind, to be aligned with the thoughts of God, as written in His word. [Romans 12:2] It involves repentance, reconciliation, renewing, restoration to your original intended purpose. He says,
‘Come, let us argue’:
And Gideon’s argument with God, concerning the condition of him and his people, that made him consider himself to be anything but a ‘valiant warrior’, came to an end with the Lord’s assurance of His presence, to trust and obey His word to him, ‘Go in the strength you have’. In any circumstance you go through in your life, God being with you, is your strength.
You will have no excuses to make with God:
Being too old for the task was an excuse that did not hold up against God, in the case of Moses, as He appeared in a burning bush in the wilderness, to reason with him, deal with the issue of delivering His people from their bondage in Egypt. Pleading ignorance in saying he did not know who the God who was sending him was, in order to establish his credibility in the eyes of the people, did not succeed either, for declared His Name, describing powerfully, who He was [Exodus 4:13-15]
I AM who I AM, or, I WILL BE what I WILL BE:
It only goes on to establish the truth that one cannot conceive in one’s mind in order to express who He is; there is no ‘one’ word, for to understand Him is beyond human comprehension. You cannot express who He is in words conceived by your finite mind, but you can experience who He is with your heart, in your life. And in the Holy scriptures, as the truth of God flows from the old to the new testament, God has made Himself known through His Only Begotten Son, Lord Jesus, even as it is written in the book of Hebrews
.
Jesus the exact representation, the image of God:
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. [Hebrews 1:2] And as the apostle Paul goes on to write to the church at Colossae, in talking about Christ Jesus He is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation. [Colossians 1:15] Only God can represent Himself; nothing else will suffice. It is why Godsent His Son into the world, that the Son could say, ‘He who has seen Me, has seen the Father’. [John 14:8]
Lord Jesus the Great I AM:
The Name of the Lord is no longer mystical; you can now behold Him to say, ‘How great are you. O God’. For the One who declares Himself to be I AM that I AM, is the One who was born into this world to say, I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, the LIFE. I AM the RESURRECTION and the LIFE, and also that HE will make Himself known to His people, thus ruling out every excuse of ignorance, when it came to knowing Him. God will give you plenty of opportunities to know and experience Him in your life. And all you need to do is respond rightly, by being willing to know Him. The importance of knowing Him- Now this is eternal life; that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. [John 16:3] Knowing Him is much more than what it means in the ordinary sense of the word. It is having eternal life, or living the God intended way of life. In fact when you know Him, He becomes your life. It is why the apostle Paul goes on to say I know whom I have believed .. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God. [Galatians 2:20] He gave His life for you; and now, He is your life. And knowing Him is the greatest blessing that you can ever experience in life. It has two aspects to it.
Revelation knowledge & relational experience:
Knowing Him comes as a revelation from God. You cannot know Him unless He Himself reveals Himself to you. And it takes place in a relationship. It was why Lord Jesus commended the declaration of Peter, concerning who He was as, Blessed are you son of Jonah for this was not revealed to you by man, but by My Father in heaven. [Matthew 16:17] And the same Father reveals Himself to you. Religion is man trying to reach God. But there is a way that seems right toman, and in the end it leads to death. But Jesus says, I AM the WAY. Christ is God’s way to you. And He reveals Himself to even the little children, and the one who has the heart of a child, not the intellectual whose pride becomes a stumbling block to knowing Him…
Salvation in itself, is a revelation:
Born in a Christian home, one ought to be grateful for the opportunity of hearing the good news of the gospel, at a very young age. The one from a non Christian background, ought to be thankful, acknowledging God’s grace that had brought about the greatest of all miracles in his life. It is a privilege to know God, to sing of His amazing grace, a song that even His Holy Angels cannot sing. And in your feeble voice you cry Abba in your suffering and pain, He stoops to listen. He has heard your cry for help that only He can give even now. Knowing Him is a blessing. ‘Simon, you are blessed’, the Lord said to Peter. And it is with a renewed mind that you will know that He is enough. For, anything that can be taken away from you, can never be your security. When problems make you pre-occupied with them, God bids you to turn to Him, saying that He is greater, stronger, and you can rejoice.
Revelation –> realization –> deepened relationship:
It is how God works in you to lead you to knowing Him. And it is seen beautifully displayed in the life of the apostle Paul, even in the midst of a problem, that he prayed to the Lord that it may be removed. [2 Corinthians 12:8,9] Three times he prayed , and received the same answer from God, that His grace will prove to be sufficient. And the fact that Paul received understanding of it, is seen in his reply, that he will boast about his weakness, having realized by the revelation from God, that when he was weak, he was strong, for God’s strength would be made perfect in his weakness. And even in your life, when God makes you realize,, you will know the sufficiency of His grace. [2 Corinthians 8:9, 2 Corinthians 9:8] Grace can do what money cannot do in your life.
HE will give you a heart to know Him:
A burning bush in the desert was not an out of the ordinary occurrence; but on that extraordinary day, God revealed Himself, making Moses realize that the burning bush before him was something different, to bring back to his divine calling, as he knew God in a relationship as the I AM that I AM. And today this is His wondrous promise to you – I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart. [Jeremiah 24:7] May the Lord help you to realize the blessing that you already have the word of God, the Holy Spirit, the privilege of calling God, ‘Abba Father’. blessing after blessing and the all sufficiency of His grace, to give thanks unto the Father in prayer and adoration. Father, Words are not enough to describe the longing to know Thee more and more. Thank Thee for thy grace, that has made us realize what has been made available to us, to find our rest in its sufficiency. Open our eyes, enlighten our understanding, and deepen our relationship with Thee, and may our lives never be the same again. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
