The King and His Kingdom

Kingdom living:

But  seek  first  the  kingdom  of  God  and  His  righteousness,  and all these things  shall be added unto you. [Matthew 6:33]

Kingdom priorities:

A transformed life becomes possible, when you keep first things first, when seeking God’s Kingdom becomes your first priority. It will find you living a life free from worry and anxiety; for He will remove from you what causes you to worry. He knows what you need, and will satisfy you fully.

Seeking His Kingdom:

The Kingdom is where the King is, and His rule is acknowledged. And the Lord has declared that you need not go searching here and there to find it, for the kingdom of God is in you. There is also the kingdom of the world and the kingdom of the devil that is at work against it; but you can be victorious, as God’s Kingdom is established powerfully in you, for He that in you is greater. King Solomon, describes it thus – Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child, and your princes feast in the morning.

Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles, and your princes feast at the proper time; for strength and not for drunkenness. [Ecclesiastes 10:16,17]

The Kingdom of the King:

The Kingdom will be a reflection of the King. He is fairer than ten thousand and it is how His Kingdom is too. The truth of it has to be grasped and applied in your life. The Kingdom of God will also be greater, and the very opposite of the kingdom of the world and that of the devil.

In Paul’s letter to Timothy, the doxology, describes the glorious Lord, the King of Kings – Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory, forever and ever.

He is eternal:

1. The Eternal King:

His Kingship is forever and ever. Your blessing therefore, is eternal. Your problem, on the other hand, whatever it may be, is temporary. It will not last forever, but will change for the better. You have a good and faithful God.

Many kingdoms of the world have come and gone, the Persian, the Roman, the Babylonian, to name a few but God remains; His Kingdom remains. The church of the true living God has seen it all, seen kingdoms come and go; but is still here vibrant and shining for His glory!

2. The Immortal King:

Therefore, His Kingdom is immortal too. And when you are born again, you become a part of His Kingdom, to enjoy eternal life. For, you are born again not by what is perishable, but by the imperishable, incorruptible word of God that lasts forever. And the word of God, the seed that is sown in you, will never lose it’s power, though many years may pass by. At the right time, it will work in you to bring forth fruit.

And the resurrection of Christ, has established forever this immortal truth. Yes, when you die physically, your body may go back to the dust. But one day, even as Christ arose from the dead, you too will rise, to be clothed with immortality and live eternally with Him. It is the glorious hope that comforts you and I in a time of bereavement while going through the grief of losing a precious loved one.

3. The Invisible Kingdom:

It cannot be perceived by you, unless He chooses to reveal it to you. God chose you, even before you had an identity, before the foundation of the world. He chose you, that His perfection may be manifested through you that His Name may be glorified, and you are blessed.

‘I am Jesus’

The light brighter than the sun blinded Paul, as he fell to the ground, and asked trembling, ‘Who are you Lord ?’ And God revealed to him, what he, as a Pharisee, who knew the scriptures, did not know. Paul knew whom the scriptures was pointing to, but he could not see Him, until then. And God shows no partiality. Even today, He will reveal Himself to anyone in this world, through His word, so that they may, with ever increasing glory, become more and more like Him.

The Kingdom of God in you:

It may be a remote and desolate place, with no external sign of anything that is godly or spiritual but even in such a place, if there is just one child of God, the invisible Kingdom of God is there, and works invisibly.

4. The Only Wise God:

He is the God who is always, absolutely right and true. The truth of His word is settled in the heavens forever. As the apostle declares, ‘Let God be true, and every man a liar’. Christ is the wisdom of God. And your life in His Kingdom will be truly blessed by God.

The God who brings practical good in your life:

He  who  is  the  blessed  and  only  Potentate,  the  King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power, Amen. [1 Timothy 6:15,16]

Sovereign Ruler and God Almighty:

He is the God who has the authority, and also the power. He knows all, and He can do it all. It is how He causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose. [Romans 8:28] Even the evil that is done to you, He turns it around for your good. He is the Only Ruler; and He has all authority in heaven and earth. The devil’s authority is limited to the earthly realm, and that too, only if you allow it.

He is the Sovereign Ruler – therefore in sovereign control.

And He has promised in His word, never to leave or forsake you. [Joshua 1:5] When you are born again, you are in such a Kingdom. In it, there is no problem of time or space. Your prayer here, therefore, can work in a miraculous way, in a person who is thousands of miles away. With your children who are far away from you, God is there to guard and lead them. And if you believe in God’s sovereign control, you will not control other people.

‘These seven are the eyes of the Lord, that range through the whole earth’, says the prophet Zechariah. [Zechariah 2:10] It signifies the truth that the Sovereign God knows it all and if you know it, your sleep will indeed be sweet ! He then wakes you up morning by morning, to hear His word – the word in season that will bless you, to be a blessing.

He is the Supreme Ruler:

He is the God who has the executive power to carry out His word. His thoughts and His plans for you, and for every person in the world. He is the Lord of Heaven and earth; and He has also given you the power to execute His authority to permit and prohibit what comes into your life.

Fear is not from Him; and you have the authority and the power not to permit it into your life. It is the same with poverty and lack. And there is no end at all, for the increase of His government in you. It is the promise, that heralded the coming of the Messiah, the soon and coming King.

This wondrous God comes to you in love and grace; you need not go searching for Him. He saves you, to dwell in you. The Kingdom of God is in you.

He is the Just Judge:

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead, at His appearing and His Kingdom. [2 Timothy 4:1]

Christ is the Judge and in the Kingdom of God, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. For, what needs to be done to make you righteous, has already been done by Him, on the Cross.

Therefore, having been made righteous by Him, you are free, to live for His glory. The risen and exalted Lord is Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first born from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own Blood, And has made us kings and priests, to His God and Father; to Him be dominion and power, forever and ever, Amen. [Revelation 1:5]

He is the faithful God:

Sarah judged Him faithful, who had promised – – – and by faith, she also received strength to conceive. [Hebrews 11:11]

He is the Firstborn from the dead:

Christ is the first born from the dead, and He is alive forever more, exalted as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And above all, He has loved us

It is the Kingdom of love:

This is the very pinnacle of it all, the overwhelming truth. As a subject of God’s Kingdom you are the object of His love !

And it is all out of love, that He has washed us from our sins by His own Blood to make us stand as kings and priests before God. He is the King who lifts you up, to glorious heights!

The King – who makes us kings:

He is the King who is very different, and so is His Kingdom. For the Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal King has already done all that needs to be done, for you to become a king! And He is the Loving King who leads you, counsels you, and lovingly changes you, makes you a king. He alone is God the Majestic King. And He is with you, transforming you to be like Him. He satisfies you by giving you His word, removing all lack, and all that is not from Him, to make your life a blessing.

Heaven is His Throne and the earth is His footstool. Let His Kingdom come. And may His will be done in our lives, even as we offer thanks unto Him, for making us a part of His Kingdom, blessing us with His Kingdom. In the Name of Christ Jesus the King forever and ever, Amen.
