He sent out His word and healed them;He delivered them from their destruction. [Psalm 107:20] And the promised word of God will not return void, without accomplishing the purpose for which it has been sent to you. You can rest upon it in quietness and confidence, as you receive from His helping hand, learning from Him, to apply it in your life, and finding rest for your soul. It is a wholeness in you, a healing not just in the physical realm, but in every aspect of your life, your emotions, relationships and work of your hands, that comes as His promise to you. It will see a repairing, restoring and rebuilding in your life, of all that has been fallen and broken, that you may rise up as a demonstration of His glory. And God does everything by His word, for in the beginning was the Word the scripture has declared. It is by sending His word therefore that He heals you. As it is written – I will bring to it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth. [Jeremiah 33:6]
In other words, by the revelation of the truth of His word that speaks specifically and relevantly into your circumstance that could be disturbed or troubled, He brings health and healing. And it will lead to a wondrous compensation of all that you could have lost in life, a restoration of all the years that the locusts could have eaten in your life, bringing you much pain and sorrow. ‘Make us glad for as long as we have seen troubles’, was the heartfelt cry of Moses unto the Lord. And it can be yours this day with a joyful expectation. You can rejoice and be glad, as He Himself is the reason for your rejoicing. And He will rebuild you as before, even as He cleanses you from the guilt of your sins, granting you forgiveness, that your heart may be filled with gratitude. And that the good that He does to build you up, would astound the people around you, is the promise of His word, that comes this day to you. [vs 7-9] Your prayer therefore, needs to be rooted in the word that you hear from Him, for it is of the revelation of the truth that leads to restoration and reigning in your life. Your mourning will be turned into joy.
The leper who came to Lord Jesus did not doubt the Lord’s power to heal him, it was His will or desire to heal him that he was not sure of. And the Lord dealt with it by the word that He spoke to him as He touched him to say – ‘I am willing; be clean’; and immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. [Matthew 8:3,4] His desire or will, and His power, are expressed by His word. And it is so even in you, for He births the desire in you & together with the power to do it by His word. You can rest in the blessed assurance of this truth, for you are His child, who is privileged to receive from Him, as no one else can.
‘Only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For, I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. [Matthew 8:8,9] The roman centurion submitted to authority, and so knew that he had authority to command his soldiers. Above all, he had the understanding that of the authority of the Lord was embedded in the word that He spoke to heal and deliver. And it amazed the Lord, who commended it, to then speak the word of healing of his servant. And even today, by His word that you speak forth, it is His authority that you exercise. As it is written in the book of Hebrews, by exercising the authority of God’s word that declares that He will never leave you or forsake you, you can declare, ‘The Lord is my Helper; what can man do to me?’. [Hebrews 13:5,6] it is His word upon your mouth; and it has authority. Therefore, He will stretch forth His hand to help you.
He is the God of the far and the near, who can help you ,wherever you find yourself in your level of understanding, and will deal with you accordingly. He understood, and did not condemn the nobleman who wanted the Lord to come and heal his son who was at the point of death. He desired the Lord’s presence to bring healing. And yet, he had the faith to trust in the authority of the word that the Lord spoke to him saying, ‘Go your way your son lives’, to depart on his return journey. [John 4:46-54]
And the depth of his faith in the authority of the Lord’s spoken word , was revealed in his interaction with his servants, to confirm that his son had been healed at the very moment that the Lord had spoken it over him.Healing can take place instantaneously, and immediately. But it can also take time, happen step by step. But in every step the Lord will be with you, to bless you and ultimately bring a healing that is wholeness and peace in you.
Whatever the time line may be, He and He alone is the Healer. And He will surely heal you. In your need the word that He speaks to you has everything in it for it to become the fulfillment of your need. It is the seed that has the potential to become the fruit, that is the ultimate expression of it. And even as it happens in the natural there could be a gestation time before you see the physical manifestation of your healing.
Facts are facts, no denying it. But the truth is higher and greater, demanding from you, faith in God’s word to you. But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, ‘Do not fear, only believe’. [Mark 5:36] And the Lord proceeded to Jairus’s home to accomplish His word, healing his daughter who had just died, as taking her hand He said, ‘Talitha cumi, little girl, I say to you, arise’. And immediately she got up and began walking, and they were immediately overcome with amazement.
It is what happened to Peter’s mother in law when on entering Peter’s home, he saw her lying in bed, suffering from a fever. And studying the incident in the three gospels one can gauge how exactly the Lord healed her. He came to her, rebuked her fever, and it left her. And He took her by her hand and lifter her up. She rose up and began to serve Him. And even today, by the word that He has spoken to you, He has touched you, to heal you and lift you up, and is holding your hand that you may do what you have been called to do, serving Him in the kingdom of God. He healed many on that day, and drove out the spirits with a word. And it was to establish one great truth.
This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He took our illnesses and bore our diseases. [Matthew 8:17] Focus on what He has spoken therefore,His word that He has sent to you, however troubling your situation maybe at present therefore, and you will be delivered out of it, from destruction , to life and wellness. The disciples experienced it on that stormy day, when they were buffeted by waves of the unruly sea, leading them to go in fear to the Lord. He was asleep, but arose to speak and rebuke the wind and the waves. And there was great calm, a perfect peace. [Matthew 8:23-27] It was a deliverance from destruction, by the Lord’s spoken word. And even in your life’s challenges that may threaten to drown you, you have a Savior, a wonderful Lord who can save you as no one else can. He will speak His desire and His power, by His word, that you may experience health and healing in every aspect of your life to be repaired, restored and rebuilt.May it be unto you, according to His word. And as you lift your hands in thanksgiving unto the Father, for stretching forth His helping hand to lift you up, you will arise to see a fulfillment of the word that He has sent forth to heal you and bless you… In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
