The Lord bless thee from Zion; And may you see the peace of Jerusalem, All the days of your life. [Psalm 128: 5] As we continue to meditate upon the promise of God, may it speak to you afresh, as grace takes you from where you are to what God has called you to be – His own dear and precious child. And it is all about love, a love, lavish and extravagant. For, Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the children of God. [1 John 3:1]
Defining love:
Love that is love, in the sight of God, is sacrificial and unconditional. He has expressed it when you and I were yet sinners, deserving only His wrath, by pouring out on us the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. [Titus 3:6] He loved the unlovable; For, By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. [1 John 3:16] And it is only on experiencing the love of God, by the working of the Holy Spirit in you, that you can express it to others.
The Spirit of adoption:
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back again into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba Father’. [Romans 8:15] Fear made its first appearance in the psyche of man, when Adam the first man sinned. And becoming a slave to sin, always leads to slavery to fear. Therefore, sin, the root cause, needs to be dealt with, and it’s symptoms, all that has not been planted in you by the Father , needs to be uprooted. It was not the original design of God, who made all things good. And the Cross was the redemptive solution, by which mankind could now be set free. And since therefore the children share in flesh and blood He Himself partook of the same things that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. [Hebrews 2: 14,15] It is the spirit of sonship, produced in you by the Holy Spirit, that sets you free. He ensures in you the realization that you are His child, and goes on to develop in you the attitude of sonship, because of which your behavior is steadily transformed to be conformed to the image of the Son of God, Lord Jesus, whatever the place and circumstance may be. For what He has accomplished on the Cross of Calvary, is appropriated in your life by His resurrection, and is worked out by the Holy Spirit who now resides in you forever.
The primary premise –
You are a child of God, and you are dealing with your spouse who is also a child of God needs to be the truth that under girds your relationship in your home. It will find all your children taught of the Lord, and peace flowing like a river in your dwelling place. And so it is, as you serve God and minister unto people in His house. It is the realization that you are a child of God, that needs to be the primary all important truth. And it is the touch of God upon your heart, the realization that comes by the Holy Spirit that brings it to pass. The prophet Jeremiah confesses the truth of it, to say, Turn me, O Lord, and I will be turned, For You are the Lord, my God. [Jeremiah 31:18]
God’s word is self targeting –
In warfare, previously it was carpet bombing, a huge area mapped out, because it was all the knowledge that was available. But now, with advanced technology that is missile based, the target can be extremely localized and specific, and yet sad to say, end up hitting a bunker that houses a school or hospital. It can always miss the mark. But the word of God, is self targeting, and never misses the mark. It emphasizes the need for your children being with you, in the house of God, to hear from Him, to be self targeted, that they may be taught of the Lord, and enjoy great peace. And it is not merely about the cleverness of the preacher, for a person whom you try to convince against his will, is of the same opinion still, it has been rightly said. For, He is the God who took the dust of the earth, to form a man, and breathed into his nostrils, the breath of life. And man became a living soul, a tripartite being, having a spirit, soul and body. It is God who makes certain that His children know that they are His children. You have to be totally dependent on His Spirit, for it to happen, The Spirit testifies – The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. [Romans 8:16] It may seem incomprehensible, not visibly seen may be, but it is nevertheless the unchanging truth. A QR code, may look like meaningless scribbling, but there is a mechanism underlying it that makes it legible when it is scanned by your smart phone, Your life’s picture could be confusing and without meaning, but the Holy Spirit who resides in you, makes the impression in your spirit that your Father is God, and His picture, His will for your life is never going to be without meaning and beauty.
The primary relationship –
In life, what lasts, is relationships. Take time therefore, to appreciate and value them. And, what sets you apart, is your relationship with God that ought to be reflected in all your other relationships. It comes as you walk with Him continually, meditating on His word day and night. And it will see a manifestation of it in your life, as whatever you do prospers. [Psalm 1]
Your FATHER is GOD –
It is only as a child grows and is no longer a baby that realization comes, leading to recognition. ‘My sheep know My voice’, the Lord has said. You will then, not heed the voice of the devil, for you will know that your Father has all that you need in life. It is the blessing of the Lord that makes your life rich, and you do not need to improve on it. And this confident exuberance comes as the Holy Spirit bears witness in your spirit, to produce a realization in you that you are a child of God. He is your everything – your Doctor, Provider, and He is your Father. Oh what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, many times in life, just because we do not realize it.
Realization, recognition and rejoice, receive:
For, the moment you begin to realize your sonship, is the moment you begin to recognize that you are a child of God, is the moment you begin to rejoice, and receive from Him all that you need for life and godliness. It all comes about with the help of the Holy Spirit of God who resides in you, and will not leave or forsake you. And the perfect love of God, poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit, will cast out every fear or anxiety that could be troubling you right now, that you may reign in life in thanksgiving and prayer. Father, we thank Thee for who You are to us, and who we are to You. We thank Thee for Your Son, Lord Jesus, the redemption and forgiveness of sins that is ours by His precious Blood. And may the Holy Spirit fill us anew to take us deeper into the realization, understanding and recognition of being your children, so that we may experience Your love in our lives, and express it in the lives of those around us, that You may be glorified.
