Blessing – Giver of aspiration

Trusting in His unfailing love and faithfulness, we continue to meditate upon God’s promised word that declares into your life and mine, May the Lord bless you from Zion; And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem All the days of your life. [Psalms 128:5,6] It is by a godly growth that comes through His word, as you approach it with a longing and craving for it, that the blessing of God is expressed in your life. The word of God is perfect and sure, giving you wisdom leading unto salvation that is the sum total of all the blessings of God in Christ, from the Father, and by the Spirit’s power. The blessing is in simple yet profound terms, doing His will for your life. And as the writer to the Hebrews has declared, the God of peace or wholeness does something more –

He equips you to help you –

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead again our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, Equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory, forever and ever, Amen. [Hebrews 13:20,21] He loves you, and therefore He does not leave you to your own devices, but gives you the resources, and is also there as your Ever present Helper to instruct, inspire and infuse strength in you to enable you to do His will. And it is what achieving godly success in your life is all about. In fact, He is your life. It is why the apostle Paul even when he was alive, had the blessed assurance to declare that he had fought the good fight, finished the race, and also knew that there was a crown of life awaiting him in the heavenly courts above. He had the satisfaction of knowing that he had fulfilled the will of God for his life here on earth, even as Lord Jesus prayed unto the Father, as He neared the Cross of Calvary, saying, ‘And this is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. I glorified You on earth, having accomplished the work You gave Me to do. [John 17:3,4] Though misconceptions may abound concerning it, being equipped to do the Father’s will is also what prosperity is all about. It does not lie in the abundance of your earthly possessions, for what would it profit a man if he has all the riches of the world, but loses his soul, the Lord has very clearly pointed out. [Mark 8:36]

All you need, already given! –

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence. [2 Peter 1:3] It is why you need not murmur or complain, or grumble about what you do not have, or do not have yet. For you have a heavenly Father; and He knows what you need, and when you need them, so that you may prosper in doing His will. As for the rich in the present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. [1 Timothy 6:17] All good and godly things for your enjoyment have already been made available for you. Let not glitz and glamour take priority over what is good and godly when it comes to what your heart seeks after, this is the lesson you and I learn from it.

Good works – doing the will of God:

He equips you to do good works, and when it comes to the word of God, it is nothing but doing the will of God. His provision that He blesses you with is always connected to the purposes of God. The people He brings into your life are connected to His will and purpose for your life. There is nothing accidental about any step that you have taken in your life, for the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord, be it, your dwelling place, workplace, or church. And as can be seen in the scriptures, in David came the divine desire to build the temple of God, and the Lord Himself has declared, ‘I will build My church’.

A desire birthed by God –

The starting point of it all is God birthing in you a divine desire -For it is God who works in you, to will and to work, for His good pleasure. [Philippians 2:13] At the outset it removes from your shoulders a heavy weight that you would otherwise be carrying, of having to figure out things and make crucial decisions depending on your own limited strength and knowledge. You can now find your rest as you trust in the God who has fashioned you even in your birth for a clear and specific purpose. The Savior epitomizes it – My food is to do the will of My Father, who sent Me, were His words to the lady at the well, the Samaritan woman, words that He was able to authenticate as He prayed on approaching His divine destiny, the Cross of Calvary, that He had glorified the Father, by accomplishing the work that He had been sent to do. God never forces His will upon you. It is not His style. Rather, He Himself creates a desire in you that propels you towards fulfilling it, as He provides all that is required for it to come to pass. And it is where the role of prayer comes to be seen, for, it is written, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, Make your requests known unto God. [Philippians 4:6]

A switching over –

Focusing is the common element. Worrying or being anxious about something, is all about focusing on the problem that you are facing, while in meditating you fix your eyes on Jesus, and fill your mind with Him. It is quite the opposite of the emptying of the mind, that the world thinks of as meditation. And it is the switching over that needs to happen in your heart as you go to Him in prayer, where He answers you by giving you His promised word, His power, that is ultimately connected to His good purposes for your life. It is how He births a divine desire in you, Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. [Psalms 37:4]

Delighting yourself – in the Lord:

When you delight yourself in the Lord, automatically your desires will change, for the I, will be replaced by what is the I AM’s. And you will come to the place where you will know that He who did not spare His own Son, will together with Him give you everything you need in life. [Romans 8:32]

Deepened relationship & pleasurable prayer:

Prayer will not be a laborious process, as delighting yourself in the Lord, it would be talking to Him, enjoyably. For when there is a relationship, it becomes pleasurable. Focus on your relationship, therefore, so that a deepened understanding of it, of who He is, may come in you, through His word. For the subject of your prayer, what you are praying about, could be painful. But prayer will be joyful when you know and have understanding, regarding the goodness and faithfulness of the powerful and loving God to whom you are praying, as ‘Abba Father’. He brings His promise into your pain, to make your prayer pleasurable, and His purposes, and good and perfect will for you, to be revealed in your heart. May He give you the desire, to draw near in delight, to hear Him in prayer, to be enriched by knowing and walking in His plan and purpose for your life, as you pray, Father, Draw me close to You, into Your loving embrace, to hear Your voice, Your whisper of love, Your plan and purpose for my life. May your will be done in my life, that You may be glorified. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
