Blessing -Boasting only in the CROSS

The God of abundance seeks to bless you, as you hear His voice speak to you through His word – The Lord bless you from Zion; And may you see the peace, the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. [Psalms 128:5,6] The blessing of God is expressed in your life as growth or a spiritual maturity, that comes as you begin to think like the Son of God, to be conformed more and more to His image, having the same attitude, even as it is written, Let those of us who are mature be of the same mind, and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you. [Philippians 3:15] The change happens in your mind, in transforming you it is we who are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit, and boast in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. [Verse 3] True circumcision, or spiritual maturity is all about boasting in Christ Jesus, a mature lifestyle that is yours, expressing a high degree of confidence and conviction in God and His word, that is seen in your confession because you have a faithful God. Therefore let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who has promised is faithful. [Hebrews 10:23] It becomes very relevant, as the end of the year draws near, for it could lead you to consider His promises that came to you, with less zeal and fervor, tempted to surrender to circumstantial evidence that belies the fulfillment of it.

Boasting in Christ:

But, what is written in the word is that, your eye has not seen, ear has not heard, or your mind conceived or imagined what God has already prepared for you. [1 Corinthians 2:9] And focusing on what is written, to trust in God and confess it, is the path laid out for you. It is how the Lord overcame Satan in the wilderness, the temptations that the evil one brought forth against Him. And it is how you overcome the doubts and poisonous words that the devil tries to bring against you, tempting you to doubt your godly destiny.

Confessing ‘Jesus is Lord’:

The Christian faith is in itself, rooted in confession, for you are saved when you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that ‘ Jesus Christ is Lord’. It is how salvation, which is the sum total of all the blessings of God comes to you. Confession of your sin, only confirms the truth that you are a sinner. Therefore there is also, always the necessity to believe in your heart, and confess that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, your personal Savior, and the Lord of your life, in the knowledge that He has removed your transgressions as far as the east is from the west. Paul understood the truth, receiving it into his heart, to confess saying, ‘In me the worst of sinners, the grace of God has been manifested’.

No one can boast about salvation:

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God – not the result of works, so that none may boast. [Ephesians 2:8,9] And whatever He gives to you, comes to you first by His word; the word that He speaks to you, concerning anything that you desire to have. It was how God began, even in creation. He started with nothing and ended with everything, and saw that everything was good. [Genesis 1] The covenant relationship as husband and wife, begins in the marriage ceremony, to remain so for the rest of their lives, with the vows that the couple declare to each other, in the presence of God, and according to His word, that will never fail. And when God calls, or speaks to you by His word, as Paul writes to the Romans, things that do not exist, come into existence. [Romans 4:17] It is why there is the need for your mind to be renewed by the word of God, that you may think as the Lord does, having His attitude, that you may not confess unwholesome words, that are not aligned to the scriptures.

Not genealogy but in Christ, made new:

Following the empty way of life, handed down to you, by your forefathers, need not be the path you tread in life, even as the patriarch Joseph was able to overcome it, by trusting in God, and not succumbing to the wiles of the enemy. Today in Christ, you are a new creation. Therefore, you begin from Christ, who became sin on the Cross, that you may be made the righteousness of God. The old has gone; the new has come.

Boasting only of the CROSS:

May I never boast of anything except the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. [Galatians 6:14] The words of the apostle, can be yours when you believe in the truth of what transpired on the Cross, when the Savior of the world accomplished, all that was necessary, so that, when He is your personal Savior, all that you need for life and godliness is yours to receive by faith, and comes to you all by His amazing grace and unending love. Therefore, not trusting in the things of the world, that are bound to let you down, at some time or the other, you can now boast only on the Cross of Calvary, upon which principalities and powers were put to shame, that by receiving God’s abundant grace, and His gift of righteousness, you may reign in life, through the One Man Jesus Christ. [Romans 5:17] You have a faithful God. O Father, We thank thee for Your amazing grace, and all that we have, through Your Son, Lord Jesus. May you empower and enable us to boast only about what He has already accomplished on the Cross, what He is appropriating even now in our lives, and what He is going to do in the future. Thank thee, that we need not put any confidence in our flesh, but we can find solace and comfort, knowing that by His stripes we are healed, and are victorious by His Blood, and our confession, the word of our testimony. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
