Let the promise of blessing that comes to you this day, continue to minister to you , as a word in season, to speak afresh into your life declaring – The Lord bless you out of Zion; And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem, All the days of your life. [Psalm 128:5,6] The blessing of God expresses itself in you as a godly growth, a maturity in you that leads to becoming more and more conformed to the image of Christ. And it needs to be visibly seen, as you follow the principles towards making it possible taking pains, and being absorbed in the word of God, so that your progress may be evident to all. [1 Timothy 4:15] It can be seen even in David’s charge to his son Solomon, as he entrusted into his hands the supremely privileged task of building the temple of God, because it was according to the will of God. His words were straight forward and clear , and gave no room for doubt or confusion – As for you, my son, Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind, for the Lord searches the heart, and knows the thoughts of every mind. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you reject Him, He will abandon you forever. [1 Chronicles 28:15] It was valuable advice, emphasising knowing God in a relational experience, tasting and seeing that He is good, by means of revelation knowledge that comes from the Holy Spirit. And even in you, it will lead to a birthing of a delight, in knowing and doing the will of God for your life, with a whole heart, and a willing mind, seeking Him, to be found by Him.
a] Seeking God – inquiring & requiring:
Inquiring of God – it is to seek His opinion, and stick to it. A second or third opinion concerning what He bids you to do, is definitely to be avoided at all cost. And your mind needs to be settled in a condition of peaceful rest, concerning what is written of you, in His word, that you may yield yourself to it, in willingness and delight, for His plan is always unimaginably greater than what you can come up with.
Requiring of God –
And it involves requiring of Him, strength and ability that comes through a dependence upon Him, that in His strength and wisdom, you will have the sustenance for His plan to come to fulfilment. What is needed in you is more than factual information, but knowledge, understanding and wisdom. For, in order to apply the knowledge and information that you may have in you,to accomplish its purpose, you need the wisdom of God, that comes by the Spirit. The role of the Holy Spirit in the Messiah, as described by the prophet, is the blessing of God, even in you, as a child of God, to say – The Spirit of the Lord shall rest on Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. [Isaiah 11:2] The God who is great in counsel, counsels you, and He is mighty in deed to make it all possible, as you continually depend on Him for His strength and power, for His word to you to come to fulfilment.
b] Seeking God – by word and prayer:
The plan of God for your life can be fulfilled, only if He is in it, from the beginning until the end. No matter how busy you are, or, how time consuming and seemingly important, your job portfolio could appear to be, seeking God by meditating upon the word to hear from Him, to receive His good promise to you,and praying to Him, thanking Him, and asking for divine empowering that it may come to pass, needs to be the number one priority in your day’s agenda. It is then that you can delight to do His will, with undeniable devotion unto Him. The life of Daniel as a high official, in a land where the people of God were in bondage, testified to it – In the first year of his reign, I Daniel, perceived in the books, the number of years that according to the word of the Lord to the prophet Jeremiah, must be fulfilled for the devastation of Jerusalem, namely seventy years. Then I turned to the Lord God, to seek an answer by prayer and supplication with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. [Daniel 9:2,3] His word of promise, comes to you as you pray, a word that you receive as a seed, and therefore needs to be planted in faith in the soil of your heart. And continuing in prayer, depending on Him is how you continually water it until the increase, the fulfilment of it comes from the Lord. In the life of Abraham, God began to speak, to call him out that he may be blessed to be a blessing. [Genesis Chapter 12] And as Abraham stepped out in obedience, every time God spoke to him, He added something, until it found him blessed in every way. [Genesis 24:1] What He speaks to you, in your life, as you maintain your continual connectivity with Him in prayer, will connect one with another, as a beautiful garland, a necklace around your neck, showing the fulfilment of His great plan and purpose for your life. Even when you do not know, or you are unable to find words to pray, the Holy Spirit in you intercedes unto the Father, with sighs and groans too deep for words. [Romans 8:26] Thus, seeking God is not possible without the word of God, prayer, and added to it, the blessed Holy Spirit, who sanctifies you.
C] Seeking God- sanctified, set apart, by the Holy Spirit:
It is being made holy, for, whatever is set apart by God for a special purpose, is what is sanctified. You are special. And you are sanctified to have the quality of holiness by the word of God and prayer. It is asking in prayer, to be equipped, that you may fulfill your divine purpose, His good and perfect will for your life. It was what Solomon asked for in prayer, knowing that it was the will of God for him, to lead His people wisely with understanding, and depending continually on Him. And when the promise of God comes to you, regarding His plan for your life, you need to co operate with Him, with your dependence solely on Him, as step by step, He leads and empowers you, that it may come to it’s fulfilment.
d] Seeking God – a total dependence on HIM:
It is to allow the Son light, the light of His word to fall upon the promise of God that has come to you regarding all that is connected to you, your family, your work, your spiritual walk, your church, as you continue to walk in sweet fellowship and unbroken dependence upon Him in prayer, the word of God, and in the Spirit’s power, to bring about a godly growth, an increase that results in a progress that is evident to all. And may it be a seeking of God that endures all through your life, as you approach Him with a whole heart, and a willing mind, to do His will for you, His higher and greater plan that no human mind can ever imagine or conceive, to pray – Father, We receive with thankful hearts your promise that they who seek will certainly find You. We seek Your Kingdom and Your righteousness this day. And we thank Thee, for such is the the generation of those who diligently seek you and require you as their greatest need, to seek, inquire of Thee, to receive life, light and the blessing of Your righteousness, as we continually depend on Thee, and Thee alone. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
