Blessing of GOD’S faithfulness

Continuing to study the promise of God that speaks to you, as you hear His voice, experience His touch, may your life be transformed, as you are led into all truth, in the power of the Holy Spirit – The Lord bless you from Zion; May you see the peace of Jerusalem, all the days of your life. [Psalm 128:5] It works out in your life as God shines the light of His face upon you, the light of the knowledge of Him in the face of Christ in you, that you may be enlightened by the true light that enlightens any man. [Numbers 6:25, 2 Corinthians 4:6, John 1:12] And the prayer of the apostle Paul is that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened to know the hope of your calling, the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints. [Ephesians 1:18]

Calling and blessing of God –

The calling of God is what connects you the blessing of God, as seen in the life of Abraham, who was called by God to be blessed by Him and be fruitful and multiply. [Isaiah 51:2] It is God who calls us.And His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence. [2 Peter 1:3] To know Him more and more, was the apostle Paul’s desire all through his life. And even in your life, you will experience increasing blessings, as your knowledge of Him increases to permeate every nook and corner of your being. Also, the writer to the Hebrews points the way, the methodology for it to be worked out in your life.

Consider Jesus –

Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to the God who appointed Him, just as Moses also was faithful in all of God’s house. [Hebrews 3:1,2] To focus upon Lord Jesus and know His faithfulness, is how you experience the blessing of God in your life. It is then that you can understand the fullness of the nature of your calling that transforms you, for, your faithfulness is dependent on knowing more and more of His faithfulness. True knowledge of Him transforms you to be like Him, as you hear from Him, to understand, believe and speak what is automatically a reflection of what He has spoken to you. Real truth brings about a real transformation, as by knowing the truth you are set free. And, he whom the Son sets free, is free indeed, to live the life to which he has been called by God, experiencing in the process, His divine blessing.

The expression of your life –

Those whom He foreknew, He also predestined, called, justified and glorified to be conformed to the image of His Son. [Romans 8:29,30] For, beholding the glory of the Lord, you are being transformed, into the same image, from one degree of glory to another. [2 Corinthians 4:18] Being conformed to the image of God’s Son, is a revelation of the truth of being a child of the Heavenly Father, and all because of His overwhelming love, the love that He has lavished upon you, as the apostle John has declared, to also state what would be the ultimate result of it. Beloved, we are God’s children now,and what we will be has not yet appeared, but we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. [1 John 3:6] It is the glorious future that has been prepared for you, and gives hope and consolation, when at present you could be nowhere near the image of Jesus, in your thoughts and deeds. But as you consider Jesus, you are being transformed, for God is at work in you and through you even now, and continues to do so as you fix your attention upon Him.The blessing of God is not limited to merely receiving from Him, but is also in becoming more and more like Him, even here on earth. The true blessing of God is not transactional, but transformational. Your attitude and approach changes, concerning your circumstance, unfavorable though it may appear to your eyes, as you fix your thoughts on the Lord, consider Jesus, to be enlightened- by the knowledge of God, in the face of Christ, about-

a] God’s faithfulness to you, and dependent on it,
b] Your faith, and,
c] Your faithfulness to God.

HIS faithfulness – the remedy for your unfaithfulness:

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, For He cannot deny Himself. [2 Timothy 2:13] And His faithfulness can also be understood as, Him never contradicting Himself, He never goes back on His word. You and I may do it, and it is then that He continues to remain faithful. But, He is not gullible. God is never mocked. And by being unfaithful to Him, you are only hurting yourself and not God. And His faithfulness is the remedy for your unfaithfulness, and not a license to sin. Rather, the kindness of God leads you to repentance. And the hard darkness of unfaithfulness, if it is in you, will be slowly and steadily displaced by His faithfulness, like the manner in which the residue of a drink of black coffee, to which abundant milk is added, ultimately takes on the color of milk. It is transformed to in no way resemble it’s previous darkness. And it is made possible, for God remains faithful to never give up on you. Even as the psalmist writes, sorrowful indeed would be the condition of someone whom the Lord gives up to his or her own self centered desires. It is because, the Lord knows you better than you know yourself, to know what is good and right and best for you, that they may be added to you, as you consider Jesus, fix your eyes upon Him, who is righteous and just.

HIS faithfulness – heals the hurt of others’ unfaithfulness:

We live in a world that is inhabited by people who are ungrateful, lauding what is blatantly evil as good, for whom the standard operating procedure when it comes to relationships with others is ‘use and throw[, preferably ‘use, crush and throw’! And if you have been at the receiving end of it, God desires to heal you today, set you free, as you focus upon His faithfulness, instead of the harm caused by others to you. Thoughts of it can come, but you have the power to deal with it, in the power of grace, for where sin abounds, grace overwhelms you. God has been faithful to you thus far, is faithful now,and in a covenant relationship with you through the Cross of Calvary, will be faithful to you in all your coming days. And your faith in such a God, makes you faithful to Him, focusing upon His faithfulness to experience healing. The life of Hagar bears testimony to it, even as she testifies regarding the faithfulness of God towards her.

‘I have seen the God who ALWAYS sees me’:

Having been suddenly sent away from her home and shelter, along with her young son, she was wandering in the desert, in exhaustion and thirst, crying out in her hurt, that was the result of the seemingly unfaithful action of Abraham. Not wanting to see her son die as she lifted up her eyes and wept, the Lord heard her, and the cry of the infant, to answer with His promise and provision. And Hagar then was able to declare, ‘I have seen the God who always sees me’, in naming the place, Beerlahoiroi. [Genesis 16:15] Yes, people could have hurt you, denied what should be rightfully yours financially. The pain of it could beso very real and palpable. But you have the power not to let it rule the rest of your precious time here on earth, by focusing on the faithfulness of God who has given His Own Son for you, and who together with Him will give you all other things in life. [Romans 8:32]

‘God has made me forget’ –

And yes, it could be difficult to forget the hurt, but it becomes possible when instead of trying to do it in your own strength, you focus on the One who gave His life for you, whose love ran red on the Cross, and your sins washed white. And like Joseph who endured unimaginable evil in the hands of his own brothers, you too will be able to say, ‘God has made me forget’, and move on to say further, ‘What you meant for evil, God has meant for good, for the saving of many lives’. [Genesis 50:20] He is a righteous and faithful God; and we all need His irresistible grace,to work within us, so that by His stripes, we may be healed. Therefore consider Jesus;, and may your soul find rest in Christ alone, and with thanksgiving, as you focus on the faithfulness of God,may your faith be reinforced, instructed and strengthened, that you may be faithful to Him, and experience the blessing of His calling upon your life. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
