Blessing – Value of knowing HIM

Drawing near to God, worshiping in spirit and truth, may you be led into all truth, as you study His promise, the various nuances of it – The Lord bless you from Zion; And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. [Psalms 128:5,6] The blessing of God is demonstrated in your life as a spiritual maturity, a transformation that comes as a result of a change in your attitude, or thinking, as described by the apostle Paul. [Philippians 3:15]

Knowing Christ makes the difference:

Only if you know Christ in a relationship, you can be rightly related to everything in your life, to rightly value all things, count as rubbish what is of value in the world system, and consider knowing Christ to be gain of surpassing value. [Philippians 3:8,9] This is eternal life, the Lord said unto His disciples, a truth applicable even to you and I this day. [John 17:3] It is a choice you make, as Joshua’s words to the Israelites declared, encouraging them to choose life; and then He Himself becomes your life, and the words of Paul can be yours – I have been crucified with Christ. I no longer live; but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God. [Galatians 2:20]

Living the GOD intended life:

And it is in knowing Christ, that you will be empowered to live a God intended life, knowing His plan and purpose for your life. You were born for a God ordained purpose, and you remain alive today, because His plan for you is not finished yet. And the right motive in seeking Him would be to know Him for whom He is, and not what He gives to you. Coming closer to God, to know Him more and more therefore it is
a. a priceless privilege
b. of surpassing worth, and,
c. a supreme advantage.
And, you definitely will not live to regret it!

How is knowing God made possible?

It comes as a revelation that you receive from the Father, that you may be blessed. As the Lord commended Simon Peter for knowing the truth that He was the Messiah, He went on to say, ‘Blessed are you Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but My Father in heaven’ [Matthew 16:17] To know Christ as the Savior of the world, and your own personal Savior, that you may receive salvation, is by grace and a revelation in your spirit. It is why you are blessed. And Revelation enables you to rightly relate with everything else in your life. Your reason will line up with God’s word, to know in your relationship with your spouse, that a prudent wife is a gift from God, and that it is all connected to God’s purpose for your life, that He may ultimately be glorified. It is not about considering everything that happens to you, as fate, but in faith, trusting in His love, and by knowing Him, know the plans He has for you, to give you a future and a hope.

God revealing Himself – JESUS CHRIST

And in order to know God, who dwells in unapproachable light, it is He who has to reveal Himself, and He has done it through Christ Jesus. Jacob, the patriarch, in humility acknowledged that after twenty years of laboring for his father in law, but for the presence of the Lord with him, he would have been sent away empty handed. The wisdom of the wise men led them to Christ, where they humbly bowed down to worship and adore Him, knowing that He was the only wise God. And they were wise men still! It all points to where your boast ought not to be. For thus says the Lord, ‘Do not let the wise boast in their wisdom, do not let the mighty boast in their might, and do not let the wealthy boast in their wealth’ [Jeremiah 9:23] If you have wisdom, your focus needs to be on the God who has blessed you with it, all by His grace. When it comes to your physical enabling or empowering whatever your age might be, know that your times are in His hands. And He will be your strength, that you may fulfill His purpose. It is the same when it comes to the wealth that God has endowed you with. Unless it is connected to the purposes of God, that comes to you, as you know Him more and more, you will have lots to live on, but nothing to live for! Paul had everything in the worldly perspective, but he was going in the wrong direction, and then counted it all loss or rubbish, when the Lord came to him, revealing who He was, and what His ordained purpose for Paul was.

Boast in knowing the Lord:

You and I too need to make one thing, that is to know God personally, our boast, even as God desires it to be – ‘But let those who boast, boast in this, that they understand and know Me, that I am the Lord, I act with steadfast love, justice and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord’ [Verse 24] And may this come to pass as you pray unto the Lord to remove all the rubbish that you have been holding on to, that you may pursue Him alone, run free, holding on only to the call of God upon your life. If necessary, let Him make you uncomfortable, that by His grace, you may move out of your comfort zone, towards fulfilling His purpose for your life. ‘I am the Good Shepherd. I know My own, and My own know Me, just as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father’. [John 10:14,15] It is the Lord’s wonderful promise to you that you can hold on to, to know Him more, as He Himself becomes your wisdom, your joy, your righteousness, and your all. Therefore, may we pray Father, We think we know you but it is nothing at all. And when it comes to the surpassing value of knowing you we have a long way to go. Take us by Your Hand to lead us to relating to everything in our lives rightly, by knowing You more, by understanding the surpassing value of knowing your call and your divine purposes upon our lives. Help us to be witnesses of what you can do in the lives of your children, as we know you more and more. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
