Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. May His voice speak into your heart very specifically, as we meditate upon the Word of promise that declares His eye of favor is upon every aspect of your life. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end — Deuteronomy 11:12. Scripture also declares that Noah found favor in the eyes of God, and became reverent and responsible toward his family. By faith, he built an ark for the salvation of his household, just as the Lord instructed him. By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family — Hebrews 11:7. In short, the favor of God transforms your life. Today, you are called to build your life upon the Scriptures, with Christ as the foundation – just as the wise man built his house upon the rock, so it stood firm when the storms came.
In Christ, through Christ, and for Christ –
These are the building blocks for your life. Understanding and applying them will allow you to experience the blessing of God as you become what you were created to be. Through the new covenant in Christ, and by His death on the Cross, old things have passed away and the new has come -giving you a fresh start, having been set free from the chains of darkness and evil. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! — 2 Corinthians 5:17. This change is internal, not external. As it has been said: It is the internals that are eternal. You are changed on the inside – because the heart of man is desperately sick, and only God knows and can heal it.
Christ’s Love Compels Us
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again — 2 Corinthians 5:14–15. There was a death; now there is a resurrection. This is not just theology – it must become your experience, that you may become a new creation in Christ (Verse 17).
Why Did Christ Have to Die?
You and I were born into this world in Adam’s image, corrupted by sin. That’s why no one needs to teach a child to lie or disobey – they come into the world “fully loaded,” just as we did. Something is spiritually wrong within: sin. But there is also a cure – something more powerful than sin: the Cross. “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed” — 1 Peter 2:24.
He Died Our Death So We May Live His Life
“If you do not die to sin, you will die in your sins.” The Lord’s words. God made a way. But many rejected it – preferring darkness to light. Still, Christ sets you free. The struggle with sin remains, as Paul writes to the Romans, but Christ’s death makes victory possible. Now, it is no longer you, but Christ who lives in you.
A New Way of Living
1. Living IN Christ
Adam poetically recognized Eve as “bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh” – a picture of deep intimacy. But without spiritual foundation, it ends in disappointment. God says: “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live – and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life” — Deuteronomy 30:19–20. Paul echoes this: “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” — Philippians 1:21.
2. Living THROUGH Christ
A fish is designed to live in water. You, created in God’s image, find rest only when you rest in Him. “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me… and you will find rest for your souls” — Matthew 11:28–30. With Christ, life’s challenges no longer wear you down, they become victories of grace.
3. Living WITH Christ
“Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” — Matthew 28:20. Whether it’s loneliness, being misunderstood, or any struggle = He is with you, and He can handle it. That’s why you will soon declare: “This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes” — Psalm 118:23.
He Is Your Life – A New Beginning
The “I will” of God is His will for you: “Because he loves Me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name. He will call on Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation” — Psalm 91:14–16. He is your life and He takes responsibility for it. Your responsibility is to invite Him to live in you, to trust His timing, and to rest in the truth that His way is higher.
Prayer: Father, We thank You for Your awesome presence and Your eternal, incorruptible Word. Lord Jesus, we thank You for having died our death, so that we can live Your life. Let Your truth take deep root in us. Enlighten our eyes, that we may know You are always with us — for You are our Life. We receive a new beginning, a fresh start in our lives for the old has gone, and the new has come. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
