The Lord is your source, strength, and security. May you hear His voice speak specifically into your situation this day through His unchanging Word, which promises His eye of favor upon you. “The eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.” (Deuteronomy 11–12)
Noah: A Life of Obedience and Favor
Noah, in the Scriptures, found favor in the eyes of God. He responded rightly in reverence, taking responsibility for his household. He built an ark according to the instruction of the Lord so that they could be saved and rise above the floodwaters.
(Genesis 6–8; Hebrews 11:7)
New Life & A New Way of Living
Now, having received Christ as your Savior and Lord, your life needs to be built upon the Rock—Jesus Christ—and the teaching of the Word of God, so that you can stand strong when the storms of life assail you. For Christ now lives in you, giving you a new life and a new way of living, as you are led by the Holy Spirit who now dwells within you.
The Holy Spirit in You – The Helper
“Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14) You need to be a child of God to be led by the Holy Spirit. And you know you are a child of God because: “… you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” (Romans 8:15) This is not just an affectionate endearment, but a deep realization of your identity in Christ. You call the Almighty God “Abba, Father” in the knowledge of your sonship through faith in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.
No Longer I, But Christ
From this point on, your life is no longer led by emotional highs and lows or worldly desires. It is led by the Holy Spirit—your ever-present Helper—guiding you every step of the way. The Christian life is a Spirit-led life through all seasons—both highs and lows. God produces in you the Spirit of sonship, bringing you into the realization that you are His child. This understanding forms the foundation of your character, even in your decision-making. (Romans 8:16) Obedience Through Love Jesus said: “If you love Me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:15–16) The Holy Spirit works within your heart to shape your character as a child of God. To know God and be known by Him is the greatest blessing—it is eternal life. (John 17:3) Your Christian walk is about knowing Him more and more, finding rest in Him that nothing else can give, and living free from the need to be led by anything else.
Led by the Spirit, Not Driven or Dragged
As you depend totally on the Holy Spirit, you will experience His power. Even Jesus, our Savior, was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the evil one. Yet He returned in the power of the Spirit, having overcome every temptation through the Word of God. (Luke 4:1,14) If He leads you, He will take care of you. But that doesn’t excuse you from accountability. Rather, you will find joy in doing what He has called you to do.
A Greater and Higher Plan
God’s plan for your life is far superior to any plan you could make for yourself. His is a plan conceived by an infinite and all-knowing God, not a limited human mind. In the place where He leads you, you will experience His divine provision, just as Jesus did. He will remind you of His Word to strengthen you as an overcomer, able to stand against the enemy. (Luke 4:14) As the Psalmist writes:
“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24) It is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
A Heart Sensitive to the Spirit
The Holy Spirit never bypasses your personality but transforms you to delight in doing God’s will. May your prayer be: Lord, have Your way in me.” Let your heart not be hardened, but sensitive to His voice. He will never drag you against your will, but waits for your cooperation. His absence is the most dangerous place to be. You are a child of God. You do not need to be dragged by circumstances, driven by lust, or led by the world’s desires. These things may appear right to man, but lead to ruin—just as in the life of King Saul. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” (Proverbs 14:12) But Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
According to Your Word, Lord
May your prayer continually be: “Lord, I thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit, who brings the realization that I am Your child. Let His character be formed in me as I submit to Your will—just as Christ submitted to His Father’s will. Take my hand and lead me in Your way.” To Jesus, may you fully surrender — the One who accomplished everything you need at Calvary, so you could become a child of God and be led by the Holy Spirit. And as you are led by the Spirit, may you continually experience His power, provision, and protection to bring to fulfillment His purpose for your life. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
