Goodness of God – Abounding Grace

As you fix your eyes upon Him, may your heart be opened to hear the voice of the Lord, as He continues to promise you, The young lions may suffer and be in want, But those who seek the Lord, will lack no good thing. [Psalms 34:10] Every good and perfect gift comes to you from above, from the Father of Lights. [James 1:17] And understanding the nature and nuances of the gift is the key to appreciating the nature of the Giver, and enjoying the gift, realizing the fullness of its worth and potential.[Ephesians 2:8]

The greatness of salvation:

Immeasurably great is the value of the gift of salvation, that you receive by faith in the Son of God. For, He died for you, on the cruel Cross, bearing all your sin and shame, the sins of all the world. He rose again from the grave, for you, conquering sin and death, and the one who has power over it, the evil one. He now lives in you, through His Spirit, empowering and testifying in you, that you are a child of God. And if God is for you, whatever may be your circumstance, who can be against you? [Romans 8:31]

You are chosen for a purpose:

So that in the ages to come He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus. [Ephesians 2:7] And the reason why He chose you, is nothing but His mercy, being shown to you. You were chosen even before you were formed in your mother’s womb, establishing the truth that you did not do anything to earn this precious privilege of being chosen by Him. ‘What is man, that You are mindful of Him”, are the psalmist’s words in grateful acknowledgment of it. And, the steps of a righteous person are ordered by the Lord. He has chosen you, not by accident, but for a purpose. It is to demonstrate His grace, in and through your life.

The surpassing value of grace:

He is a just God; and because all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God, and the wages of sin is death, it is what you and I deserve. But the mercy of God is illustrated in your life in Him., by the punishment that you justly deserve, bring laid upon the Lord on the Cross. He demonstrated His grace in you, for it is the hell that you justly deserve, but you get heaven instead. And it is when you appreciate the sheer magnitude of it, that you can begin to enjoy the fruit of it in your life. Otherwise, everything in life will appear to be mere vanity, or meaningless, no matter how many worldly goods you possess, and how innumerable are your accomplishments. But the wondrous truth is that with God, everything has meaning and a purpose.

HIS limitless grace:

But law came in, with the result that trespass multiplied, but where sin increased, grace abounded even more. [Romans 5:20] It is how God’s limitless grace is described by the apostle Paul, elaborating on it to say how the sin problem, a struggle that can be overcome by depending on the limitless grace of God, is demonstrated in you in the outworking of it, for it is immeasurably more powerful.

Limitless grace illustrated:

The woman’s plea to the prophet Elisha was concerning her two sons going to be taken away as slaves, by creditors, on account of the monetary debt that her husband had posthumously left behind. [2 Kings 4:1-7] And the resource she had to repay the debt, was, just one jar of oil. It depicts in no uncertain terms, how woefully inadequate, you are in your strength, to overcome the problem in you, that looms large ominously, threatening to take you captive. But it is when grace enters in, the limitless grace of God, that is demonstrated in you by the God who has chosen you for the very same purpose, even before you were formed in your mother’s womb.

Grace demonstrated:

The woman was freed of her debts, by the oil that continued to flow in the vessels, collected from their neighbors, so that she may sell it all, pay her debt, and live on the rest. [Verse 7] And the oil stopped only when there were no more empty vessels. It is a picture of the demonstration of God’s limitless grace, available even now to you, to stay in the freedom of the gift of salvation, received by faith in the Name of Jesus. And the all-surpassing, limitless grace will make more vessels available to you! Old age, or any other human consideration, need not limit you, from being fruitful in the kingdom of God, for His limitless grace has been opened up to you.

The sufficiency of HIS grace:

My grace is sufficient for you; for My strength is made perfect in your weakness. [2 Corinthians 12:8] In describing the sufficiency of His grace, the Lord in His word leads you to a shifting of focus, from the problem that could be engaging all your attention at present. It is a choice that you need to make, trusting that what you cannot accomplish, is something that He will certainly bring to pass. It is how the apostle Paul goes on to gladly boast about his problems and difficulties, for his focus is upon the grace that can overcome it all, to start thanking God. And the strength to be able to do it, even in your life, comes from God. It is how your confession can be, to say,  ‘When I am weak, then I am strong’, even in your time of weakness, for receiving His good gift of salvation involves His strength being made perfect in your weakness. His very nature describes what the result of it would be.

HE gave HIS SON & with HIM gives:

He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, will He not, together with Him give us all things? [Romans 8:32] Though none of us deserve it, by the sheer grace of God, Christ is with you and me, all our lives. It makes all the difference for, even if you do not have all that you need, you have with you, the One who has all that you need, the One who has promised to take care of all your needs. His promise to the patriarch Jacob was that, He would not leave him until all that He had promised to him was fulfilled. [Genesis 28:15] Therefore, the very fact that Christ is with you, is the guarantee, that all that He has promised to you will be fulfilled, and He is in the process of fulfilling it too. And it is all by the amazing grace of God, who has promised that He will never leave you or forsake you, that He will be with you forever. Therefore may your prayer this day unto the Father be that He would shift your focus from the problem that could be bringing you down, to dwell upon the limitless grace that has been made available to you, by which you may overcome it. For, where sin increases, His grace abounds even more. And may you rejoice in the truth of the privilege of being His chosen vessel, that He may demonstrate His grace in and through your life, that you may lack no good thing, but be blessed by His goodness and unending love. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
