May the voice of the Holy Spirit, speak into your heart, giving you a right perspective of the truth of God’s word, His promise that speaks a blessing of His goodness in your life, saying those who seek the Lord, lack no good thing. [Psalms 34:10] It is the gift of salvation that opens the door to God’s goodness in your life. Repentance and reconciliation form an integral part of it, leading to a renewing of your mind that finds His higher and greater thoughts becoming yours, to bring about a transformation in you, that even in suffering you may rejoice, for, Suffering–> perseverance –> character –>hope. And hope does not disappoint us, for the love of God has been poured into our hearts, by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. [Romans 5:5]
Experiencing biblical hope:
The world may define hope as something that is not certain, what could or could not happen. But hope, as scripture describes it to be is entirely different.
God is the source of hope:
It is in fact an unchanging assurance, for it finds its source in the God who remains the same forever. And in spite of disappointment that you may have faced, God can bring about His appointment for you. And it is when you have an understanding of what His plan for you is, and know that He will bring it to pass, you can have hope. You are here because He has a plan. You are still here because He has a higher plan. Never expecting anything is worldly fatalistic philosophy. But hope is God wanting His things to happen, in and through you. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace, as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. [Romans 15:13]
A blessed hope:
While we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. [Titus 2:13]
Your hope is a ‘blessed hope’ in that the return of Lord Jesus, will indeed be a joyful and blessed experience, when you will be blessed beyond measure, on seeing Him face to face, a blessing that nothing can compare with.
A good hope:
May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, Encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and work. [2 Thessalonians 2:13,14] God is a good God. And hope comes from Him. Therefore godly hope will have a good ending. The goodness and mercy of God will follow you all the days of your life. You have a hope and a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
A living hope:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. [1 Peter 1:3] It is all about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, to be alive forevermore. Trusting in mortal man would inevitably prove to be futile, even as the psalmist counsels; [Psalms 146:3] But, because He lives, you can face tomorrow. You have a living hope. And you will know the truth that – you have been crucified with Christ. You no longer live, but Christ lives in you. And the life you now live in the body, you live by faith in the Son of God, who loved you, and gave
Himself for you. [Galatians 2:20] And in your difficult times you will know that He who is in you, is greater than He that is in the world, to be enabled to overcome your challenges, and see the blessing of His goodness in your life. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob;
Whose hope is in the Lord his God. [Psalms 146:5] Help is on its way. Hope will not disappoint you.
HOPE – God, the source, His word, the foundation:
Hope is not about simply imagining things, or wishful thinking, or about the probability of something happening, based on your own thinking, for it can fail. Godly hope has Him as it’s source, and His word as it’s foundation. It is as the apostle Paul was able to declare his hope to be – ‘I know in whom I have put my trust; I am thoroughly convinced that He is able…’
Holy Spirit, the Helper:
And it all becomes possible in the power of the Spirit in you – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. [Romans 15:13] Paul was not a super hero, and he has made it clear in his epistles, establishing a truth that can bring comfort in you, and I, knowing that it is all about trusting in Him, however weak and helpless you may be in your situation. He talks about how they were burdened excessively, about to give up hope, and were fearing death. [2 Corinthians 1:8] But, God taught them what could happen, even in such a situation, as they put their trust in Him. It is a lesson that stands true even in your life and mine today. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril;, and He will deliver us. On Him we put our hope, for He will continue to deliver us. [Verse 10] When your hope is in Him, hope will never disappoint you. For, He is a, good God –> good hope –> good end.
He is the God of hope:
Father, We thank Thee, as we lift our hands to the God of Hope, a Living Hope, a Living God, who grants unto us a blessed hope that brings His blessing into our lives. And even as we face challenges, may we know that You cause all things to work together for our good, as we are permeated and saturated with the hope that has it’s foundation in Your word. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
