Sanctified to serve

As we sing Hosanna You are the Lord who saves us, in His presence, may all your fears be washed away. And may His voice give perspective, healing to transform you, through His promise that declares His eye of favor and care, upon every aspect of your life. [Deuteronomy 12:11] Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord to become reverent and responsible towards the salvation of his household, by building the ark according to His specific counsel, that was high above the waters, not submerged when the floods arrived according to the Lord’s warning. [Genesis 6:8, Hebrews 11:7]

Shaped by scripture:

It happens in your life, as you become like the wise man who built his house upon the rock, that stood firm in the storm, for it was built upon the Rock of Christ, the Rock of salvation, now and forever. With a life shaped by scripture, the one who does the will of God abides forever for as Christ comes into your life, you are made right with God, made righteous, so that you can do what is right before Him’. Christ comes in to make the wrong right, by His grace working in you, to remove what is wrong in you, to make you holy, a process of cleansing that is sanctification or bring made holy. And holiness defined by scripture is one of the bricks placed in its rightful place that forms part of your life that is built by doing what is right in the sight of God.

Positional Sanctification:

Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you; Before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as prophet to the nations. [Jeremiah 1:5] And today, the truth is, you have been sanctified by Him, even before you were born. For sanctification or holiness is when a holy God sets apart or separates something for Himself, as belonging to Him, and for a special or specific purpose.

Experiential sanctification:

So just as He who has called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy’. [1 Peter 1:15,16] And when you fulfill the purpose for which God has separated you for Himself, when you do what He has called you to do, it is sanctification. It is living a holy life. And it is not about the colour of your skin, your status in society, or the color and nature of your attire. So I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. [Galatians 5:16]

Living by the Spirit:

Christian living, which is a life of holiness is not about following a set of rules, but is about being led and guided by the Holy Spirit. It is not about starting with a negative, ‘no, don’t do that’, but rather keeping yourself engaged with the positive, with what God has called you to do, so that it leaves no time for anything else. For there is no ‘time pass’ with God!

Grace is more powerful than sin:

Corporate worship becomes important and vital that you may been encouraged to abide in your walk with God. [Hebrews 10:25] Being in church is doing what He has called you to do, and prevents you from being anywhere else, and doing what He has not called you to do. For the principle of sin is still at work in you; but by the power of grace that is now in you, you can resist it and soar in accomplishing His divine plan, living a holy life in a sinful world.

Approved before you were born:

Before you were born in your mother’s womb, God knew you; He has approved you as His chosen instrument, set you apart for Himself. [Jeremiah 1:5] And it is to do what is right, something greater than your own thoughts and plans. Your prayer therefore needs to be that He would search you and know your thoughts, to see if there is any hurtful way in you, to be led in the way everlasting, and not to death. And He is there to help you.

Hosannah – a plea for His mercy & help:

The Lord rode on a colt towards Jerusalem, where He knew the Cross lay before Him, even as the people waved palm branches, shouting Hosanna, for God’s mercy upon them to be delivered from the harsh Roman rule that they were laboring under. But it was not the Roman garrison that the Lord entered, but to the other side, to enter into the temple, driving away the money changers with a whip to cleanse His Father’s House, that was intended to be a House of Prayer, and not a den of thieves. [Luke Chapter 19]

Your heart – His House of prayer:

And today He desires your heart to be His House of Prayer, His dwelling place. It is the original intended purpose that He has ordained for you, even before you were formed in your mother’s womb. And He is even now accomplishing it for His glory, even as you yield to Him.

Restored to your original intended purpose:

And when it is His Home, you belong to Him; He will protect you, solve your problem, have communion with you, removing what is not of His Father, sanctifying you by His truth, to make it what it was intended to be His House of Prayer. Let Him probe you, search you, see if there is any hurtful way in you, to remove it, take you by your hand, and lead you in the everlasting way, that your life may be His House, and Lord Jesus may be glorified in it.

My life, is for Your glory, Lord:

Father, This is Your House; You are with us here; and have Your way in us, we pray. Let your purpose take preeminence in our lives, as your truth sanctifies us, that our lives may be for Thee, and for Thy glory. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
