Set free from every fear

Continuing to study what makes you steady in life’s path that lies unknown before you this day, may the light of God’s word lead and guide you, and His goodness becomes your experience. For, The Lord shall build up Zion; And He shall appear in His glory. [Psalm 102:16] His word will never return void, and therefore He will certainly build your life, your family, your work, your relationships, and your church, the gathering of saints where you belong. The key to it all lies in your primary relationship with God as your Heavenly Father, by His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, your Helper, who leads you into all truth, in knowing and experiencing the One who is the Truth, Lord Jesus, and His perfect and finished work of the Cross in your life.

What He became, that you may become:

a] Christ became sin, that you may become the righteousness of God in Him, and no longer remain a sinner. b] He became a curse, that you may become the blessing of God, to no longer be under the curse of the law. c] He became poor on the Cross, breaking the bondage of human limitedness, that you may become rich, experiencing His unlimitedness is reflected in his ability to submit and say ‘yes’, in obedience to the plan of God, His good purposes for your life.

BLOOD – the atonement for sin:

And since therefore the children shared in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death was subject to lifelong slavery. [Hebrews 2:14] It is a sin that separates man from God, the One who is love and desires that you and I are His children here on earth. And there can be no remission of sins without the shedding of blood is the truth of the scriptures. It was why the Eternal Word became flesh and dwelt on the earth., that sin, fear and death may be dealt with in victory, on the cruel Cross. He had to be made like His brothers in every respect, so that He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. [vs 17]

Sin –> death, fear, the devil:

When sin entered to corrupt, God’s original design, the narrative of fear began to unfold in describing what Adam did because of his sin and shame. He hid from the presence of God in fear, which was induced in him by satan, to be kept in slavery to it all through his life. And it remains so in the fallen nature of every man. There was thus a collapse of the emotional system in man, that led to the destruction of his well-being, and pain and sorrow.

The world – a systemic difference:

Death is a separation from God. And the Bible clearly talks about an ungodly sorrow that comes in you, which leads to death. [2 Corinthians 7:10] And the Lord Himself has spoken in the parable of the sower about the seed that fell on the thorny ground, likening it to the worries of the world that can choke and make you fruitless and frustrated in life. [Mark 4:19] The word of God counsels you, not to love the world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life, and also not to follow the pattern of the world. [1 John 2:17, Romans 12:2] It all refers to a world system, a system of operation that is the very antithesis of God’s manner of working that is built upon His word or the word system. And the system you adopt can make a world of difference in your world! leading you to either an abundant life or fear and a spiritual death.

The ultimate fear:

The ultimate fear in a person is the fear of death. But it can also come in other forms that are maybe not so deadly, but are definitely fearful, and not so enjoyable. And in the the outworking of it all is the hand of the evil one who uses it to keep you in subjection, and slavery to him, unable to progress in God’s plan for your life.

Levels of fear: 1. self-centeredness:

The world system is self-oriented, and satan dominated. It puts a problematic you in the center of your life. ‘What can I do?’, can be your stance, when you are in the center, and it could be an expression of pride or self-pity. For, the devil has a field day when you limit yourself, as you focus on your own ability, to induce fear in you. And though you may think that you are operating in freedom, it is in truth, a deception of the devil. But the unlimitedness, of God, is what you become a partaker of when you can say the words of Paul, ‘I have been crucified with Christ, I no longer live., but Christ lives in me. [Galatians 2:20] And then, your problem is no longer a problem, but an opportunity for God to demonstrate His glory.

2. Lust, leading to fear:

Lust, or an inordinate craving of the flesh for something, can lead to fear induced by the devil, for not being able to have it can cause a person to cave in, destroying his own life, in some way or the other. But living by the word system, you will know that you have a Father who knows your every need, and they will be added unto you, even as you seek His Kingdom and His righteousness.

3. Worry or care:

Living by the creed of the world system could see a the dangerous progression that begins with a simple and a legitimate concern, to then worry, cause fear, and ultimately death. And death that is spiritual, or an eternal separation from God, becomes the eternal doom of the person who does not have a relationship with God. But with a God-centered life, knowing what He became, that you may become, you can overcome the lies of the enemy. It is knowing the truth of the word of God, that sets you free. Job was a righteous man; but what caused him to lose his peace and rest was the fear in him, that what he feared would come to pass; And what set him free was the truth that he was able to know and declare in the midst of it all, ‘I know my Redeemer lives’.

4. A progression toward total collapse:

It is not poetry, but an expression of deep pain that enveloped his entire being, at all levels, that the psalmist reveals, to cry out to God for help that he so desperately longs for . [Psalm 38] And it is painfully beautiful, especially because you and I can at some level or the other identify with it, and also know that the solution to it all has been accomplished on Calvary. Therefore, you can rise up and stand upright. You need no longer be bowed down in your soul, physically not at rest, experiencing a turmoil within like a raging fire, leaving you drained of all strength and sharpness, with seemingly no end to your troubles in sight. In his continual sorrow, ‘I am ready to fall, and my pain is ever before me’, the psalmist declares, implicitly saying that but for the grace of God, he would have fallen. [Vs 17,21,22] He reveals the truth, that it is by depending not on your own strength, but on the strength of God, that you can stand and not fall, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. It is the truth of why Lord Jesus became flesh and blood, what He became on the Cross, and how it impacts you life this day.

CHRIST on the CROSS:

As the prophet Isaiah has so powerfully prophesied – He was despised and rejected by men, A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief, And as one from whom men hide their faces, He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He has borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows; Yet we considered Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, Upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, And by His stripes, we are healed. [Isaiah 53:3-5] The pain that the Lord went through to be crucified, covers it all and is inclusive in every respect. And therefore, whatever your pain may be, know that He became flesh and blood, to die on the Cross, that you may be set free of it. For, what He became, you need not go through. And in your trouble, He stands with you, to bring you out of it. You are healed by His stripes, by what He has already accomplished, by what He became on the Cross.

In CHRIST – the death of every fear:

And fear in all stages, fear of death that is the ultimate is overcome victoriously because of His death and resurrection. You need not fear physical death as a child of God, for you can say with Paul, ‘ For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain’, Also, as a Christian, there is for you, no second death, or an eternal separation from God, for Christ, became flesh and blood. And He has dealt with death, sin, and the devil, accomplishing a transaction that brings transformation in you, as instead of being dominated by fear, you can now be filled with His love, a perfect love that casts out every fear, to have a spirit of power, love, and sound mind. God’s word does not return without achieving its purpose. And it speaks healing to you this day, as you are set free from every unhealthy fear. Father, We thank thee for your awesome word. We thank thee for Your Son who became flesh and blood to be born into this world, and His finished work of the Cross. Help us to appropriate it in our lives, and let fear be gone, and love overwhelm our hearts. May your word be the experience of your people. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
