Shaped by scripture

You have been redeemed by the Blood of Christ to be a child of God; and may the truth become your life’s experience, as you hear God’s voice through His word of promise and care, His eyes of favor that are upon you everyday of your life. [Deuteronomy 12:11] And as written in the scriptures, Noah found favor in the eyes of God, to respond rightly, realize his responsibility towards his family, to build an ark for the salvation of his household. [Genesis 6:8] By faith he did what the Lord commanded him saying, ‘This is how you are to do it’. [Hebrews 11:7] And the Lord provided him with all the resources, to also promise His presence with him until he fulfilled his task. Today, in your life, He promises you the same, even as He builds you up to be a new creation in Christ. Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him 5he whole building is joined together and built to be a holy temple unto the Lord. [Ephesians 2:20,21]

Dwelling place of God:

You are built upon the word of God, Lord Jesus being the cornerstone, to be a dwelling place of God. And the narrative unfolds thus,

Before you were saved:

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of the world, and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air. [Ephesians 2:1-3]

How you were saved:

But because of His great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our transgressions, it is by grace you have been saved. [Ephesians 2:5] You have been raised alive to be seated with Christ in the heavenly realms, saved by grace through faith, a gift of God, not by works, but as a workmanship of God, for good works that He has already prepared. [Ephesians 2:6-10]

And why you were saved:

Formerly you were cut off from Christ, foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in this world. But now you have been brought close to God, by the Blood of Christ, for you are now one in Christ. [Ephesians 2:11]

The progression:

And you are being built one step at a time, to be a holy temple unto the Lord. [Ephesians 2:21] And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling, in which God lives by His Spirit. [Ephesians 2:22]

‘I will build My church’:

‘And I tell you that you are Peter; and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it’. [Matthew 16:18] They were the words of Lord Jesus when Peter declared Him to be the Son of God. Today you are His church, and your life is being built by Him.

Your responsibility:

You need to co operate with Him for He will never bypass you; He builds you up, in and through you, even as the wise man built his house upon the rock, to stand firm even when the storm came. [Matthew 7:24-27] His blessing of health and strength becomes yours, only as you eat the nutritious food that is laid before you, A spiritual equivalent of it would be your need to co operate with God by studying, meditating upon His word, attend church regularly, maintain discipline in your walk with God, even as it is written in the scriptures, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. [Matthew 4:4]

Building your life on God’s word:

It is the one who listens to the word of God and puts it into practice, who is grounded in His word, who will have his life be as a house that is built upon the rock of Christ, to stand strong even when the storms of life beat against it. Even when it comes to your children, it is your parental responsibility, that they know the Lord Jesus through you, and become spiritually fit, growing up in the love and knowledge of God at home and in the church community.

How does the Lord build you?

He has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption the forgiveness of sins. [Colossians 1:13,14] It is a redemption that is a double portion, in bringing you out of darkness to also then ensure that you do not fall back into the vile clutches of sin again.

‘Son, your sins are forgiven’:

The paralyzed man was carried in, in the sight of all the people, unable to walk, rippled by sin, making him a sinner, just as you and I were before we were saved. [Mark 2:1-12] But in calling the paralyzed man, ‘son’, when it is applied to yourself, the truth is, the Lord addresses not what you are, but what you can be. Now, a sinner, but sins forgiven, you are His son, His child. And it is all His mercy. Also forgiveness though you and I could never pay for it, to Him it was costly. The Father gave His Son, who shed His Blood on the Cross, though you and I were not worthy of it, to set us free.

All about His Love & grace:

For His love is eternal, and His grace is more powerful than sin. And by His work of grace in you, having been redeemed by the Blood- you are still able to sin, but, because you are a son, you do not have to sin.

Rise up & walk upright:

And people may have seen you being carried in sickness and defeat, paralyzed and unable to walk. But now, because of the redeeming work of grace in you, by the Savior who has shed His Blood on the Cross, for the forgiveness of sins, you can now rise up and walk upright before the same people. You are redeemed; and you can victoriously proclaim it in thanksgiving. Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb, Father, We thank Thee for Thy faithfulness towards us, even when we were yet sinners, that we no longer need to just manage our lives, but by Thy grace and strength, Thy power may be manifested in our lives. And redeemed and restored, may we rise up to walk into the destiny that You have prepared for us, that You may be glorified, and we may be blessed. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
