May the meditation of your heart be pleasing in the sight of the Lord as you hear His voice that guides you in a path of transformation, through His promise that declares but those who seek the Lord shall lack no good thing. [Psalms 34:10] And when the question of how His goodness becomes possible in your life arises, the answer is that it is by His salvation, which is the awesome experience of enjoying the blessing of God, of you becoming a child of God, from being a sinner, to become a saint, by what Christ has accomplished on the Cross.
Divine order and abundance:
It could be explained from a certain angle, as God, shining the light of the knowledge of Christ in your heart, Out of the heart flows every issue of life. Therefore, He touches your innermost being, or your heart, to bring about a divine order and abundance that is the blessing of God. And for it to happen, you also need to have a good knowledge of how it all impacts your soul, what God does in your soul, that you may also know your responsibility, even as you let God change you.
Not conformed, but transformed:
Do not be conformed to the pattern of the word, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect. [Romans 12:2] And the Lord makes His strength available, for godly works cannot be done without godly help. Trusting in your own strength to do what is godly will only leave you frustrated and unfulfilled. Therefore, you would be wise to let God change you, by changing the way you think. Christianity in its essence, is about God reaching out to man and is a relationship. Religion on the other hand is about man trying to reach God, on his own terms, trying to put the limitless God in a box, so to speak, only to fail miserably. The Eternal God reaches out to you to know Him more and more, by experiencing Him, by tasting and seeing that He is good. And you need to seek Him first. He is the One who was here in the very beginning.
Begin with God:
It is written that no eye has seen, ear heard, or mind conceived, what He has prepared for you, in the coming days, the provision that He has made available for you. [1 Corinthians 2:9] It therefore is His counsel that you need not worry, about your future. What you need to do, is to begin with waiting upon Him in prayer, for only when you understand what He has already done, you will have a good understanding of what you need to do.
‘It is finished’:
Whatever needs to be done has already been done by God on Calvary. It is a done deal. And now He is appropriating in your life and mine, all that has been accomplished by the Cross. And what He has already done, He will not do again; does not need to. For by one sacrifice, He has perfected forever, those who are being made holy. [Hebrews 10:14] And also no alteration is needed to be done to it; no rework is necessary. For, He has done perfect and complete work on the Cross. He has made provision for all that is necessary in your life and mine, even up to the very minute and intricate details of your life here on earth. He is the God of forethought, who has done a complete job in each one of our lives.
Your responsibility:
The Lord has done all that needs to be done; but it still needs your work, what needs to be done by you, that you may have a full understanding of the truth in you, and experience all that has been prepared for you, through the Lord’s finished work on the Cross. As the apostle Paul narrates his life’s transformation, to the Galatian church ‘I have been crucified with Christ; I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God; who loved me and gave Himself for me.’ [Galatians 2:20] And it is also written, He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Himself for us all, together with Him, gives us all things. [Romans 8:32] Such is the awesomeness of the God you serve. But there is also your responsibility.
You have to learn:
For, you live in a dissatisfied world, that is always asking for more. It is why you need to learn and have a full understanding, of what God has already done. ‘I have learned to be content’, the apostle Paul, describes the process to be, emphasizing the fact that it does not happen in you automatically. It is a learning process, where you approach God, asking Him in prayer, to reveal to you the changes that you need to make in you, to be profitable in your situation whatever it may be, a time of lack or plenty. To accomplish it and win, you need to learn.
HE teaches you, and gives you strength:
God promises to teach you, give you counsel, that you may learn. Paul went through all types of circumstances in his life, both negative and positive, lack and abundance, physically and emotionally. And then, having experienced it all, he is able to say what he learned as ‘I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. [Philippians 4:13]
How does God teach you?
This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, says the Lord. I will put My law in their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. [Hebrews 8:10] God says, ‘I will’, and therefore, they will. And it includes you and me. And He will in no way force you, but He Himself will make you understand. He wants you to know what He has already prepared for you. What is required of you, is to be pliable in His hand, and knowing that it is for your growth, willingly submit to His will, that you may be blessed, to be a blessing. He made the first move. He chose to reveal Himself to you. May He engrave, imprint His word in your heart and mind, that it may permeate, penetrate into every aspect of your life, the minute and the smallest to the biggest, to prevail in every circumstance of your life, giving wisdom, counsel and strength, that you may have the understanding of the truth, that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. What a privilege indeed it is that you can take everything to Him in prayer. In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
