Your Everlasting FATHER

The world may corrupt you; but the incorruptible word of God, when it is in your heart and soul, will bring direction and destiny, and healing in your being, to be led forward in His calling upon your life. And in studying the prayer of David, may the Holy Spirit bring a breakthrough in your spirit, that will see you advancing towards where God has designed you to be, especially in such a time as this Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; And may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. [Psalm 143:10] And, His word to you, in your life’s circumstance, is the process by which God works it out, even as you meditate upon it, to believe in your heart, confess and obey it. Obedience to His word is what brings His blessing into your life, the good success which alone can truly satisfy you. It could be a challenging task, but His presence with you, every step of the way, will give you wisdom, courage, and the strength that you need, and also remove the fear, that can stop your progress.

To not be fearful, or dismayed, but to trust in His presence with them, to meditate upon the word of God continually, and confess it, and to be strong and courageous, was the obedience that Joshua needed to exhibit, in order for him, and the people of Israel, to enter into the blessing of the promised land becoming their homeland. [Joshua 1:7-9] Confession becomes greatly significant, for it is the proof of your faith, of your confidence in the God who has spoken His good word to you. It is the good confession, that needs to an integral part of your spiritual walk until the very end, in the spiritual warfare that you encounter as a child of God.

It is what the apostle Paul exhorts Timothy in saying, Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. [1 Timothy 6:12] The good confession: God is always good; and His word is always true. The immutable nature of God and His word always remains the foundational truth, from which your confession of faith arises, to be built up as your good confession in the face of the good fight that you and I are called to fight in this world, as a christian. For there is always a fight that comes against the core of your being as a child of God, your faith in Him and His word. And faith comes by hearing God’s word, while faith works by keeping His word. The connection is simple, not complicated, but applying it in your life, in challenging circumstances, could definitely be a fight. It will be a good fight though, for by God’s work of grace in your heart, it will see you win.

The good fight:

It begins right from your salvation, for it is when you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, to confess that good confession with your mouth, that you are saved. And progressing from that point in your life, in every demanding situation that you face, the big and small, it is God’s word in your mouth, your good confession, that can bring about a godly and a good change in you, that goes on to bring a change in your circumstance. Therefore, it needs to be what you believe in your heart to speak it forth, or your mouth’s confession, even before you see any evidence of change. The confidence with which Job spoke to confess, ‘I know my Redeemer lives’, was when he was in deep distress, and unable to see any change in his situation. But in his good fight of faith, it was the good confession, as he held on to the truth of the goodness of God, that it would deliver him out of it all. And it was in his knowledge and trust in the Almighty God, that he was able to make, ‘Lord, I know you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted’, his good confession. [Job 42:2]

It is the quality that can be even in you, for it is the prayer that Lord Jesus offered up to His Father, His Highly Priestly prayer, where He prayed, ‘For I have given to them the words which You have given Me and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. [John 17:8] They have ‘truly understood’, and believe or are, ‘thoroughly convinced’ is how the Lord describes the faith of His disciples, and it is also about you, when you are a child of God, having put your trust in the Lord. And drawing a simple parallel would be to liken it at a less significant level, to the nature of your conviction, when it comes to knowing that if today is Sunday, tomorrow is surely going to be Monday.

And how much more thoroughly convinced you can be, when it comes to God’s word to you. But it is also very true that you and I often find it easier to believe the devil’s lies, knowing pretty well that he is a liar, and is the father of lies, while believing the word of God who never lies is often difficult. Individualism is the philosophy that takes many captive, in this present day and age, where each one does what he perceives to be right in his own eyes, only to find out in the end, that it was not right at all. But your ending can be blessed and good when your focus is upon the unchanging characteristics of the Almighty God ,

  • His power
  • His purpose
  • His pursuit, or [how He executes His purpose

Holding fast your confession:

The importance of what you believe and speak forth, or in other words, your confession of faith in the entire process, cannot be overemphasized, as the writer to the Hebrews establishes, to say Let us hold fast our confession of hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. [Hebrew 10:23] He who has promised is faithful, for there is nothing that He cannot do. He will certainly fulfill what He has promised to you, even as you do not let go of your confession of it,. It was what Job was able to do, in-spite of all his pain and loss. He had hope and expectation, for he knew his God. You too can find your rest in knowing and confessing the truth of it; that He is the God who can do all things.

All authority on heaven and earth has been given unto the Lord Jesus for He has triumphed on the Cross, over death and the grave, to live now forevermore. There is no limit to His jurisdiction. It is why you can confidently pray in His Name, for your loved one in a distant continent, to also know that when you ask according to His will, He not only hears your prayer, but you also have what you have asked for. Your son or daughter, could be fighting for the nation, hidden fathoms deep in the ocean, in a stealthy submarine, or they could be astronauts, in a command module, preparing for an imminent space walk, but God hears your prayer to hide them under the shadow of His wings, so that no harm may endanger them.

And above all, concerning their eternal future, you will be blessed to see it’s fruit, when you hold fast your confession, that all your children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be their peace, He will certainly fulfill the promise He has spoken, for He is a faithful and loving God, and nothing, or no one is beyond His miraculous reach, and power. Which He worked in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, to be seated with Him in the heavenly places. [Ephesians 1:20] And, everything has been put in subjection unto the Lord, who is the Head of the church. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. [Ephesians 1:22,23]

It is how the apostle Paul has described the present victorious Head of the church, Lord Jesus Christ, with all things having been put in subjection under His feet. And, you are the church, His body. Therefore, you can make the bold confession that, the evil one is now in subjection under your feet! It is the authority that you now enjoy as the church, under the Headship of Christ. And therefore, nothing is too difficult for you, in Him, needs to be your language now, for He has already done it all! It can certainly cause you to be in agreement with the prophet, as he exclaims, ‘Ah’ at the wonder of it all, Ah, Lord God! Behold You have made the heavens and the earth, by Your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. [Jeremiah 32:17] He is an All Powerful God; And the beauty of it all, is that He is not a dictator, but is a compassionate God, full of loving kindness towards you, and towards thousands and thousands. [Jeremiah 32:18] He has intervened in this world that was engulfed in sin’s darkness, to shine the light of His glorious salvation.

HE so loved … :

The fulcrum of the scriptures, ever remains, and forever will remain, the one glorious verse  John 3:16, even as it speaks to you very personally, as it does to every willing heart, God so loved you, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that when you believe in Him, you will not perish, but will have eternal life. And in a world that has been so rudely, and suddenly shaken by an unprecedented crisis, He is even at this moment, very close to the brokenhearted. And together with His unfailing love, He is the God of compassion, that is more powerful, than sympathy or empathy , for it works to resolve your need. He does something to change your life, and the basis of it all is His love for you. Therefore ,

Be – loved !:

May the prayer of the apostle Paul to the Ephesians, work in you mightily, That He would grant you to be strengthened according to the riches of His glory, by His Spirit, in your inner man, That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the width, and length, and height and depth to know the love of Christ, which passes understanding, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, To Him be glory in the church, by Christ Jesus, to all generations, forever and ever, Amen. [Ephesians 2:16-21]

And may hearing His word to you this day, be a demonstration of God’s power in you, and the,  ‘Ah’, moment in your life, as you stand amazed at the love of Christ for you. Be – loved is what God is saying to you this day. And hope does not disappoint us, for the love of God has been poured into our hearts,  by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. [Romans 5:5]

The FATHER’S love:

Thus He is a God who is good, and is also powerful. He rewards you, for He is not an unrighteous God. And most importantly, it is in love, that the God who is great in counsel and deed, for whom nothing is impossible, works in your life mightily and powerfully. [Jeremiah 32:19] His love comes to you in your relationship with Him as your Eternal Father. And as the revelation of it, His Son, in whom the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form was born into this world. It is the truth that we acknowledge and celebrate with joy, at this time of the year, For unto us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His Name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. [Isaiah 9:6]

HIS NAME :

In the world, a child may be given a particular name by it’s parents, hoping that the child would live up to it’s name. But with the Almighty God, His Name is a revelation of who He is. Hagar, in the desert, having seen the One who saw her, as He intervened to satisfy the thirst of her infant son, called His Name, ‘You are the God who sees’. [Genesis 16:13] And the Name of Christ, as Everlasting Father, brings you into a relationship with Him as your Father, , the One who knows your every need, to also provide for them, even as you seek first, His kingdom, and His righteousness. For, they will be added unto you, that you may go on to boldly confess, ‘I know You can do all things’.

HE knows and HE understands:

In a world that is becoming increasingly selfish and uncaring, it is the Father, who has compassion on you, to minister to you at your point of need. For, it is He who understands how fragile and breakable you can be in life’s difficult circumstances. He knows your frame, what you are on the inside of you, as the psalmist has aptly expressed it. [Psalm 103:13,14]

HE is your loving Redeemer & Restorer:

The parable of the prodigal son, so very wonderfully describes the love of the Everlasting Father, that He has lavished upon you and I, that we should be called His children. Just as the Father ran to embrace and celebrate the return of His younger son, He is your Redeemer and mine. And as He so lovingly invites the older brother, He is your Restorer and mine, that we may partake or become a part of all that is His. We can indeed confess that we know that He can do all things, and no purpose of His will be thwarted. May we live continually in the grateful realization of the wondrous truth of the Almighty and Great and Mighty God, being our Redeemer, our Restorer, restoring a hundredfold, all that we may have lost in our lives, and above all our Father, who loves us with an everlasting love.

In the Name of Christ Jesus Amen.
